We're building a company that listens to installers, challenges unnecessary complexity and develops technology around the people who actually have to install, support and live with it.

OUR STORY

Built from experience.

HISA was founded with a simple ambition — to make low-carbon heating easier to specify, install, support and live with.

Our roots are in the heating industry. That experience showed us first-hand where products could be made simpler, where installers needed better support and where the customer experience could be improved.

Today, HISA is an independent Scottish heating and home-energy technology company based in Glasgow. We develop and supply R290 air source heat pumps, hot water cylinders and battery storage systems for homes and residential projects across the UK.

We work closely with installers and industry partners so that what we develop is shaped by what actually happens in real homes — not just what works on paper.

From here we support our growing network of partners, hold UK product and spare-parts stock and continue to develop the next generation of HISA technology.

Scotland is our home, but our ambition goes much further. We want HISA technology to play a meaningful role in the transition to cleaner heating and smarter home energy across the UK and beyond.

HISA brings together practical industry experience, commercial expertise and technical innovation around one goal: making better heating and home-energy technology simpler to deliver.

Jay Singh

Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Jay came to Scotland nearly 20 years ago to study for a Master’s in International Marketing at the University of Strathclyde and has worked in renewable energy ever since. Before founding HISA, he ran installation businesses across solar, heat pumps and renewable heating, working closely with customers and engineers to solve real-world challenges. His ambition to build his own energy technology brand led him to develop HISA, combining years of industry experience with product development and strong supply-chain partnerships. He established HISA Engineering in 2023 with a simple long-term ambition: to build better, simpler energy technology that lasts for generations.

Rob Morgan

Advisor; Strategy, Commercial and GTM

Rob has 25 years’ experience in industry across Telecoms and Banking, currently working as Head of Climate Tech for Barclays. Rob transitioned into Sustainable Finance 6 years ago running commercial and innovation projects in the UK, as well as gaining a sustainability qualification from Manchester Metropolitan University. For the last 2 years Rob has focused in on Climate Tech ventures, bringing together his passions for decarbonisation, innovation and business.

Dr. Andrew Bissell

CTO

Andrew brings decades of experience in technology innovation, entrepreneurship and business growth to HISA. He founded medical imaging company Voxar and energy technology business Sunamp, building international partnerships and bringing pioneering technologies to market.

His expertise spans product development, intellectual property, fundraising and collaboration with industry and academia. In 2025, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Edinburgh in recognition of his contribution to renewable energy.

As HISA's CTO, Andrew leads technology strategy and innovation, focused on developing practical solutions that make renewable heating simpler, more accessible and better suited to real-world needs.

Norman Rogers

Co-founder & Operations Support

With over 50 years of business experience, Norman brings a wealth of practical knowledge and commercial understanding to HISA. As one of the company's original co-founders, he played an important role in establishing the business and continues to support its development.

Working largely behind the scenes, Norman helps HISA with logistics, order processing, fulfilment and day-to-day operational challenges. His experience, practical approach and ability to solve problems make him a valued member of the HISA team, helping ensure the business runs smoothly as it continues to grow.
